ABOUT  SHONE

Shone is a knitwear fashion brand that was founded during the pandemic by amateur designer Shonagh, who wanted to create a space where customers could express their individuality and style through one-off, unique pieces of knitwear.

Using the highest quality plant-based materials in all of our products, Shone's designs are both fashionable and sustainable. Shone is proud to be a Prince’s Trust-supported business, a charity dedicated to helping young people in the UK.

The Beginnings
Long before knowing it, Shone began when I turned 13 years old; a pivotal moment in my life when the world of fashion became my absolute fascination. Having spent my whole life being creative and artistic, fashion became a new & infinite branch of art that I couldn't wait to explore.

With the influence of Vivienne Westwood, Alexander McQueen, Iris Van Harpen and many others, a passion for extravagance and individuality propelled my creative aesthetic and desire to design. Fast-forward to 12 years later and my dreams are being knitted one stitch at a time with my designs being purchased all over the world.
 
Let's get down to business 
With the aim to represent a surreal, dream-like experience in my designs, the Chunky Knit Cardigan was born, and it immediately took off on Instagram. At this point, my therapeutic hobby started to develop into an enthusiastic business and, growing with confidence, I added more items to my product line.

Since then I have continued to make statement knitwear commercial pieces as my creative focus. However, this is just the beginning as my vision for the future of Shone is becoming stronger and more exciting!

What's Next?
My editorial fashion dream became a reality when I had the opportunity to knit an editorial, bespoke gown for the iconic The Vivienne for Ru Paul's Drag Race All Stars 7 (View it here). This ignited the flame to push the boundaries of what knitwear represents, shifting my focus to more extravagant knitted designs and ideas.

Whilst I continue to make my chunky-knitted pieces that you can purchase here on my website, you can expect much bigger things to come from Shone, some of which are already underway behind the scenes, so be sure to stick around for it all!
